LATIN DANCE
Week 1: June 28th - July 2nd
Tuition: $200/person per week

Campers: Ages 7 years and up

We will be practicing a routine throughout the week and Friday July 2nd will be our grand finally with a performance by the dancers!
About our instructor:
Natalie Poggi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has lived in the United States since 2001. Natalia has been teaching fitness classes like Latin Rhythms, Sport zone class, Dance Aerobics, Bosu, Spin, Step, Body sculpt and kickboxing since she became a certified personal trainer in 1996. This will be Natalia’s second summer teaching Latin Dance at the Art Farm summer camp. We will be practicing a routine throughout the week and Friday July 2 will be our grand finally with a performance by the dancers!
SAILING
Week 1: June 28th- July 2nd
& Week 7: August 9th -13th
Tuition: $285/person per week
Time: 9.00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Campers: Ages 9 years and up
Enrollment: 2 minimum/ 5 maximum
The campers will be learning about rigging a boat and what to do when it capsizes. They will also learn how a boat responds to wind before they get in the water. The campers will also be practicing sailing games and do mock races. Campers are welcome to sign up for both weeks that are offered
About our instructors:
This year we will be introducing a week long beginner’s Jr. Sailing program in corporation of Breakwater Yacht Club and Tait Yachts in Sag Harbor. Join ceramic artist and film maker Courtney M. Leonard as we push....mush...prop...and click our way to create our own unique stories in clay and video. Our stories make for wonderful movies and your the director in this unique class that will teach us how to express our individuality as well as appreciate team effort in turning a block of clay into a digital display
About our Instructor:
We are very excited to have Courtney Leonard for another summer at the Art Farm. Courtney has been teaching ceramics at the camp for many years and this year we will take advantage of her knowledge in clay animation as well.
CAMP ROCK
Week 3: July 12th - July 16th
& Week 7: August 9th - August 13th

If you can count to 4, tap your feet and throw a ball, you can learn the basics of rock instruments like: drums, guitar, keyboards and bass guitar in a real recording studio environment. Students in the group will utilize these skills as well as their creative sense to write will a song, perform and record it.
About our instructor:
George Howard is a professional recording engineer, musician and producer. Drawing on his experience in the studio as well as instrument instruction for children and adults alike, George creates an interactive learning experience for each child that will be fun, educational and rewarding.
MAGIC
Week 3: July 12th - July 16th
& Week 7: August 9th - August 13th

About our Instructor:
Magic-Al Garber has been the leading children's comedy/magician in the New York area for many years. He has performed at numerous birthday parties, schools, camps, libraries, museums as well as performing in his own off-Broadway show "It's a Magic-Al World". His DVD of the same name is watched by children over and over! He was featured in New York Magazine as the Best of New York! Magic-Al has the ability to make kids laugh hysterically, from the belly, and has become a fixture in kid’s lives!
TEEN FASHION MAGAZINE
Week 4: July 19th - July 23rd

Enrollment: 4 minimum and 8 maximum
Report on the fashion trends around camp, and find out what trends are coming up for Fall 2101. This class will be writing, photographing and and publishing a Fashion Magazine by the end of the week.

Patti Robinson has been designing, teaching and collaborating with students on innovative projects at The Art Farm for the past three years. She is a 2010 recipient of the NYFA Mark award for visual art. Two years ago she created the popular Fashion Runway class, and last year the class exhibited their designs in the windows of Collette on Main Street in Sag Harbor.
CERAMIC POTTERY
Week 5: July 26th - July 30th

Ceramic Artist Courtney M. Leonard is offering wheel classes for beginner levels at her Studio in Bridgehampton. Learn how to create forms for function or sculpture as we explore the potentials of the potter's wheel. From wonderful mugs to crazy animals each child will find their own unique way of exploring this wonderful tool
About our Instructor:
Courtney Leonard is an award winning artist that has done pottery for numerous years. Courtney has been teaching ceramics at the camp for several years and we are thrilled to be able to offer pottery classes this summer. The campers will go to her studio and work on the wheels there.
FASHION DESIGN
Week 5: July 26 - July 30
Tuition: $200/person per week (includes materials)
Time: 9.30 am -12.30 pm
Campers: Ages 8 years and up
Enrollment: 4 minimum and 8 maximum
This class will teach the skills necessary to create fun wearable clothing in a creative and innovative way. The students will be using fabric and sewing machines to construct their designs. This class is a great compliment to the Fashion Runway elective, where the students use an imaginative process and unconventional materials.

HIP HOP DANCE
Week 6: August 2nd - August 6th
Tuition: $150/person per week
Time: 9.30 am - 12.30 pm

The dancers will be practicing a cool routine throughout the week and on Friday August 6th they will put all the work together that they did over the week and show us their moves!!
About our Instructor:
Diane Shumway, owner and director, is a certified instructor and member of Dance Educators of America. She received her formal training with Genevieve Manning and teacher Ballet, Tap and Modern.
Hip Hop instructors include 'Spex' Boogie and Meredith Shumway. Meredith, who also teaches Ballet and Lyrical, received her formal training with Maggie Black and attended American Ballet Theatre summer training intensives during High School before attending the University of Mississippi at Oxford where she was a member of the Hip Hop competition team. She is also a certified fitness instructor. Campers will be energized by Meredith's motivation and will enjoy spending the week learning new Hip Hop choreography that they will perfect and then perform on August 6th.
DOCUMENTARY FILM MAKING
Week 7: August 9th - August 13th
Tuition: $200/person per week (includes materials)
Time: 9.30 am-12.30 pm
Campers: Ages 8 years and up
Enrollment: 4 minimum and 8 maximum
The students will be making a documentary film based on The Art Farm. The subject of the film will offer a unique perspective on some aspect of camp, and will be decided on by the group at the first meeting. All students will receive a copy of the completed film on DVD.
